Wood & Lacquer
A large part of wood is sanded at some point during the industry process. Regardless type of wood, Ekamant has both the experience and products to achieve the required surface finish from calibration to lacquer sanding.
MDF/chip board material is used as a core in furniture and kitchen cabinets. If materials are covered with veneer or foil, they must be calibrated with coarser grits. MDF board coated with lacquer must be sanded with finer grits.
Plywood / OSB boards are used as building material, but also together with a layer of thin veneer for furnitures.
Solid Hard Wood
This type of wood is e.g. oak and tropical wood. Parquet flooring, kitchen doors, living room furniture and outdoor furniture are products produced from solid wood. Grits from P40 to P240 are commonly used.
Solid Soft Wood
Pine wood is a very soft wood and resin rich. Therefore, an extra open/open grain structure is required. Ekamant has one of the best products in the world for this type of sanding, starting from P40.
Veneer is a very thin wood material you apply on different kinds of board. The thickness usally not thicker than 0,5mm. To sand this material, you need very sharp flexible abrasives. Ekamant is one of the best for this application.
Paper Foil/ Melamine
Its mostly common to laminate the MDF / Chipboard with paper foil or melamine. After lamination the board normally gets sanded before the coating of primer or sealer.
