When Ekamant developed the world's first antistatic abrasive paper, a new chapter in the history of sanding was written. Sanding results were dramatically improved. It also meant better working conditions for those using the product.
This was not the first time that Ekamant took the lead. As early as in the fifties, Ekamant had introduced the electrostatic coating technique. Several decades later, our accumulated experience of this technique is reflected in our entire product range which is distinguished by its superlative and consistent quality.
We were also the first company in Scandinavia to manufacture abrasive paper with a resin bond agent.

Ekamant's plant in Markaryd is one of Europe's most advanced production facilities for coated abrasives. The production process is highly-automated and computerized.
Our production company delivers abrasive material in jumbo rolls. These are sent to our subsidiaries or distributors to be cut into suitable sizes for making sheets, belts, discs, etc.
The parent company develops cutting techniques and equipment. This expertise is translated to our subsidiaries and distributors, resulting in a uniform product quality regardless of where in the world the material is cut to size.

Research and development plays a prominent role at Ekamant. The fully equipped laboratory at our plant in Markaryd is a center of intensive work.

- Woodline.
The aim of wood sanding is to give a product the right shape and surface regularity prior to the final surface treatment. The ideal surface with an optimal finish can only be achieved with a sharp abrasive tool. A sharp abrasive tool can cut through the fibres of the wood with-out compressing them into the product. The objective is to achieve an even, matt surface which when lacquered or stained will lead to minimal fibre raise.
- Antistatex.
The Ekamant Antistatex products generate no electrical charges. The result is that the sanding dust follows the sanding belt and is carried out by the suction devides of the machine. No sanding dust adheres to the workpiece, and you will therefore get a better and cleaner wood surface which is cheaper to lacquer.
